Passing the 50 Year Milestone!

Ferro-Clean Celebrates reaching 50 Years of business!

On a warm summer’s day in January 1966, Ernest Wibberley took the plunge and formed a company in the (then remote) district of Welshpool, Western Australia, with the aim of providing reliable, high-quality Abrasive Sand Blasting and Industrial Coatings services to the Western Australian market.

Beginning his career by painting bicycle frames in 1948, Ernie was recommended for an apprenticeship in sign-writing in 1953, and ran his own sign-writing practice around 1962. After four years of involvement in a few large industrial painting jobs in Perth, he purchased the necessary equipment and a block of land, and started a business.

That business… is Ferro-Clean.

Over the past 50 years, the company has continually adapted and changed, developing into the professional organisation that still serves the same market today. To remain at the forefront of the industry, Ferro-Clean has now set up 3 workshop facilities across Perth, obtained ISO9001 and NACE 2 qualifications, invested in research and development to provide state of the art facilities, and has an impressive list of completed projects – including the Perth Arena and the Elizabeth Quay, which opened in January 2016Ferro-Clean is still owned by the same family, and is currently into its 3rd generation of family management – a tribute to our valued and loyal customers.
