WA Institute of Sport
The Project
In 2013, Ferro-Clean provided abrasive blasting and protective coatings application on the steelwork for the WA Institute of Sport’s High Performance Centre. Over 315 tonnes of steel was painted, in two different paint systems.
The WAIS High Performance Centre includes a multi-purpose gym, a four-lane 80m running track, pole vault, long jump, and javelin facilities, a science testing area, a hydrotherapy recovery centre, and various other amenities.
Opened in early 2015, it is a valuable asset for Western Australia’s athletes striving for success at Rio 2016. Over 40 staff work at the facility, including personal coaches and sports physicians, giving Olympians a place to hone their skills and represent Australia with pride.
