The Project

In 2013, Ferro-Clean provided abrasive blasting & protective coatings application on the steelwork for the WA Institute of sport’s High Performance Centre. Over 315 tonne of steel was painted, in two different paint systems.

The WAIS High performance centre comprises of a multi-purpose gym, a four lane 80m running track, pole vault, long jump, and javelin facilities, a science testing area, hydrotherapy recovery centre, and other amenities. Opened in early 2015, it is a valuable asset for Western Australia’s athletes, going for gold at Rio 2016. Over 40 staff are employed at the facility, as well as personal coaches and sports physicians, giving the Olympians a place where they can hone their skills to make Australia proud.
